| My grandfather made his name during the Second World War making rubber boats for the commandos with Bostik. My grandmother taught me everything I know about tennis, and other noble sports. My father was chief engineer in the Royal Navy, part of the team that commissioned the first Polaris subs. He moved on to become chief nuclear safeguards engineer at Hunterston power station, and finally specialised in Quality Assurance. He taught me a lot about many things. My mother was a stage actress, and I’m sure she’s responsible for my passion for music, art, and writing. I was born in England in 1965 and brought up on Treasure Island with swashbuckling pirates, hobbits, and sci-fi. I went to school, played rugby, chased girls and did all the usual things young boys do, including some that didn’t go down too well with the powers that be. After moving to London I worked in the music business, then as a photographer, before marrying my beautiful Italian wife and moving to “il bel paese” where we opened a beach bar and had 3 beautiful babies, who are strapping young girls now. I worked as an English teacher at the International Forum Languages School of Forli before starting my career as a full-time professional translator 7 years ago. Apart from my family and my work, my passions are writing and kiting. You can find some of my writing Here. If you want to come kitesurfing, just hit the beach next time it’s blowin’ up a storm and say, “Hi!” I
also love
messing around with classic bikes and cars, especially if they’ve
got Triumph written on them it seems.
